PSG to step up interest in Barcelona’s Eric Garcia after losing Achraf Hakimi to injury

Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be admirers of Eric Garcia and are now reportedly ready to step up their interest in the Barcelona star after losing Achraf Hakimi to injury.

A new report from L’Equipe states that Garcia’s name has already cropped up plenty of times when PSG have discussed defensive reinforcements, particularly as he’s into the last year of his contract.

The word now is that PSG could try to negotiate a fee with Barca to bring in Garcia in the January window after losing Hakimi to an ankle injury sustained against Bayern in the Champions League.

PSG want to sign a central defender, who can also play as a right-back, and Eric seems to fit the bill perfectly for Luis Enrique’s side.

Yet tempting Eric away from Barcelona may be difficult. Deco has said the plan is for him to stay and a sign a contract until 2030 after becoming one of Hansi Flick’s favorites.
