Pedri jokes about Jules Kounde’s goals after Barcelona win

Pedri couldn’t help but have a little joke about Jules Kounde after seeing the Frenchman score twice for Barcelona in Tuesday’s Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Kounde became the first player to ever score two headers in a Champions League match for Barcelona as Hansi Flick’s side took a crucial three points.

Pedri was delighted to see Kounde find the back of the net but wasn’t sure he actually meant his second goal.

“Koundé is a guy who works really hard. He deserves these two goals. They’ll be great for him to keep up the level he’s been giving us for several years now,” he told the media.

“I’m happy for him, because he’s also a good friend. I’m sure he didn’t mean to shoot the second one, but oh well, I’ll ask him,” he added with a smile.

Kounde actually admitted he was a “bit surprised” to see his second effort end up in the back of the net but also made it clear he was thrilled to score the goals that sealed an important victory.
