Lamine Yamal nominated for 2025 Puskas Award for stunning Barcelona goal

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has been nominated for the 2025 Puskas Award for his brilliant goal against Espanyol last season.

Yamal starred in the 2-0 win back in May and opened the scoring with a wonderful strike. He picked up possession on the right flank, cut inside and then fired into the top corner.

The victory clinched the Liga title for Barcelona at the RCDE stadium with two games to spare.

Yamal has been nominated for the award along with Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice, and his excellent free-kick against Real Madrid in the Gunners’ Champions League win over Los Blancos.

The award is decided by a panel of so-called ‘Fifa Legends’ and fans with an equal 50% split. The winner will be announced at the The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025 at the end of November.
