Barcelona handed positive Marc Casado update after midfielder undergoes tests

Barcelona have been handed good news on Marc Casado after the midfielder underwent fitness tests at the club on Monday morning.

Casado was set to start Sunday’s win over Celta Vigo in La Liga but pulled out just minutes before kick-off after feeling some discomfort and was replaced by Dani Olmo.

According to Diario Sport, Casado has now undergo tests and has been diagnosed with a “minor” adductor injury.

Barcelona therefore won’t issue a medical statement on Casado and are hopeful he will be able to return to action after the international break.

The news will be a relief to Hansi Flick in particular as he will be short of midfield options for Barcelona’s next game against Athletic Club.

Frenkie de Jong’s late red card against Celta Vigo means he will miss the game against Ernesto Valverde’s side due to suspension, while Pedri is not expected back in time for the fixture either.
