Barcelona quartet at risk of Champions League suspension ahead of Chelsea clash

Barcelona once again have several players at risk of a one-match Champions League ban for yellow card accumulation ahead of Tuesday’s match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez have joined Frenkie de Jong and Marc Casado on two bookings and are now one card away from an automatic ban that would rule them out of Barcelona’s next game in the competition against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Barcelona also have Jules Koundé, Alejandro Balde, Gerard Martín, and Dani Olmo on one yellow card so far, meaning they could join the quartet in walking a disciplinary tightrope if they are booked in west London.

The game between the two sides will be an eagerly-anticipated match, with there being plenty of history between the two sides in the Champions League.

Both Chelsea and Barcelona possess similar records in the competition so far, after opening up with seven points from their first four games, and could do with a victory at Stamford Bridge to boost their hopes of automatic qualification.
