Should Barcelona replace Robert Lewandowski with Harry Kane?

Harry Kane and Barcelona are back in the news with a report from The Guardian claiming the Bayern Munich ace is now the club’s top choice to replace Robert Lewandowski next summer.

The report adds that Barcelona could trigger Kane’s £57 million release clause in the summer and bring him to Catalunya as their new No. 9.

It’s not a new story but it’s certainly one that keeps cropping up. After all, Kane keeps on scoring goals for fun for Bayern, while Barcelona are hunting for a new striker.

There’s been talk that Kane isn’t interested in Barca but you suspect he may well be tempted, particularly after seeing England team-mate Marcus Rashford post impressive statistics with Hansi Flick’s side this season.

Kane’s price tag and age may surely pose a problem to Barcelona, but let’s not forget they did previously splash out on Lewandowski at the grand old age of 33.

Lewandowski has gone on to score 106 goals in just 159 appearances for Barca, winning La Liga, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup titles along the way, a fact that may not be lost on Kane either.

Kane hasn’t said definitively what he plans to do in the future. He’s said a few times he’s happy at Bayern and willing to talk about a new contract, but there have also been whispers about a Premier League return.

Tell us what you think about Kane? Would he be a good signing for Barcelona? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
