Deco ‘pushing’ to sign Daniel Muñoz for Barcelona

Daniel Munoz is once again being linked with a move to Barcelona after playing a starring role in the Premier League with Crystal Palace.

The right-back, who has previously admitted Ronaldinho was his idol and that he’d love to play for Barcelona, is said to have impressed sporting director Deco.

‘Transfer expert’ Ekrem Konur says that Hansi Flick is eager to bring in a right-back and that Deco is “pushing” to get a deal done.

Chelsea, Milan, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen are also believed to be keen on the 29-year-old Colombia international.

Jules Kounde is currently Barca’s first choice right-back but has struggled to find his best form this season. Eric Garcia has also been used in the position by Barca, while young Xavi Espart seems to be in Flick’s thoughts and will be hoping for first-team opportunities this season.

A winter deal looks unlikely, with Deco having already admitted he’s not expecting to do business in January, meaning any approach may have to wait until the end of the campaign.
