WATCH: Barcelona hold open training session at renovated Camp Nou

Barcelona players, staff and fans were finally back at the Camp Nou on Friday as the club held an open training session that will also serve as a test event.

It’s been a long wait to return home but the Camp Nou certainly looked in great shape as 23,000 fans arrived to watch their heroes put through their paces on the pitch by Hansi Flick and Co.

And here’s the moment the players came out on the pitch for the first time in a very long while.

There was more good news on the pitch as Joan Garcia was spotted training with the first team as he closes in on a return to action after undergoing knee surgery. Andreas Christensen was also with the group as was Eric Garcia – complete with mask to protect his broken nose.

Sporting director Deco was also in attendance and was thrilled to see players and fans back at the Camp Nou.

It’s a very special day for everyone, players and fans alike. The president is very excited after everything he’s doing for the club,“ he said. “The people have supported us a lot in Montjuïc, but the Camp Nou is incomparable.”

Barcelona are now hoping to hold their first match back at the renovated Camp Nou after the international break when Athletic Club arrive in Catalunya for their La Liga clash on November 22nd.
