Barcelona duo Frenkie de Jong and Marc Casado at risk of Champions League suspension

Barcelona take on Club Brugge on Wednesday night in the Champions League in a game where midfielders Marc Casado and Frenkie de Jong must be careful.

The two midfielders are expected to start, but both have already picked up two yellow cards in the competition already, and another booking will rule them out of Barca’s next Champions League match against Chelsea.

Losing either player for the game at Stamford Bridge on November 25th would be a massive blow for Hansi Flick, particularly as Pedri is expected to still be out for the match as well as long-term injury victim Gavi.

De Jong and Casado are the only players at risk of suspension in Belgium as Barcelona go in search of their third win in the competition so far.

Club Brugge have won one and lost two of their European games so far in the 2025-26 season and were thumped 4-0 by Bayern Munich last time out at Allianz Arena.
