Why Marc Casado was forced to pull out of Barcelona XI minutes before kick off at Celta

Barcelona were forced into a last-minute change of their starting XI against Celta Vigo on Sunday night as Marc Casado was a late withdrawal.

Casado was named in the starting XI for the match at Balaidos, but he ended up watching from the bench as Dani Olmo replaced him in the team for the game.

The Barcelona midfielder reportedly felt discomfort in his adductor just before kick-off which is why Flick opted to make the late change to his team.

Casado will now undergo further tests to detemine the severity of the problem, but the hope will be that it’s not too serious and he will be able to return after the international break.

Flick certainly won’t want to lose another midfielder to injury. He remains without Gavi and Pedri, with neither player due back for some time.

Gavi won’t be back until February of next year, while it’s thought Barcelona will have to wait until December to welcome Pedri back to first-team action.
