Robert Lewandowski talks Lamine Yamal and Marcus Rashford ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Club Brugge

Robert Lewandowski spoke about team-mates Lamine Yamal and Marcus Rashford ahead of Barcelona’s Champions League tie with Club Brugge.

Both players have been making headlines in recent weeks, particularly Yamal, and Lewandowski thinks he needs to be left alone.

“I talk to him a lot, but it’s better if I don’t talk about him. He needs peace and quiet. I won’t say more,” he told a pre-match press conference.

Lewandowski then went on to praise Rashford, who scored again for Barcelona at the weekend, and says he can help the team this season.

“I knew him before, I played against him and I knew him from United. He has great potential. From day one, I saw that he could help us,” he added.

“He’s playing well. I hope we play even better with him. With him, we’re stronger. He scores goals, he provides a lot of assists.”

There were also a few questions about Lewandowski’s future, with the striker out of contract at the end of the season. However, he’s not ready to make a decision about next season just yet.

“First of all, I’m not in a hurry. In the end, the most important thing will be how I feel once the season is over. I’ll have to see what to do with my life, but right now I’m focused on scoring goals and winning titles with the team,” he said.

“I had some problems at the end of the season, but now I’m fine. When you have a lot of games in a season, it’s important to be at your best at the end.

“I’ve had two injuries, but I’ve been working really hard in the last two weeks, and now I’m at a high level. If we play as a team, we’re dangerous and we can win titles.

“Based on my experience, I’m calm, and I know I can help the team.”

Lewandowski made his return from injury last time out against Elche and will be hoping for more minutes against Club Brugge.
