Hansi Flick was a happy man after seeing his Barcelona team beat Atletico Madrid 3-1 at Camp Nou on Tuesday night in La Liga.
The Barcelona boss cut a dejected figure last time out against Alaves but it was a different story after goals from Raphinha, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres secured an important win over Diego Simeone’s side.
Here’s what he made of it all:
“I think our performance was on another level. We played against a great team. We fought together, and that’s what I saw today. It was great, fantastic,” he told the media afterwards.
“I’m very satisfied. It’s important that new players keep arriving. There are some who aren’t at 100%, so we’ve had to make changes. We’ve gained more control, we’ve created more space. It’s been very positive.”
Flick also played down injury fears over Raphinha and Pedri after seeing both players go off.
“Raphinha is a very important player for us. Having him back is great for the team. We saw him today, but we also saw him in the last match. I’m very happy,” he added.
“Pedri is fine, he’s a little tired. Olmo, we’ll see tomorrow. It’s always good to gain confidence against a team like Atlético.”
Barcelona are back in action at the weekend in La Liga when they travel to the Benito Villamarin to take on Real Betis.
