Marcus Rashford ‘feeling better’ ahead of Chelsea test for Barcelona

Marcus Rashford says he’s feeling better after missing Saturday’s win over Athletic Club due to a bout of the flu.

The England international missed training ahead of the game but was back at the Ciutat Esportiva on Sunday as Hansi Flick’s side switched their focus to the Champions League.

“Feeling better and back with the team,” Rashford posted on Instagram as he prepares to return to England again with Barcelona.

Rashford thrived on his last trip back home to face Newcastle, scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory at St James’ Park in the Champions League back in September.

He’ll hope to feature again on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge and knows all about facing the Blues. Rashford has come up against Chelsea 21 times in his career so far, winning seven of those matches, drawing eight and losing the remaining six.

He’s also scored six goals and contributed five assists against the Blues, per Transfermarkt, and will hope to add to his tally at Stamford Bridge next week.

He may not start of course, Raphinha made his return from injury against Athletic, and is also set to feature at the pre-match press conference – often a telling sign that the player will be in the starting XI.

Yet even if Rashford has to settle for a place on tbe bench on Tuesday night, he could still prove to be a useful weapon for Hansi Flick against a team and a ground he knows well from his time with Manchester United.
