Lamine Yamal banned for Barcelona’s Champions League clash with Slavia Prague

Barcelona will have to cope without Lamine Yamal next time out in the Champions League against Slavia Prague after he picked up a one-match ban against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Yamal was booked in the second half of the match, his third of the campaign so far in Europe, which brings an automatic ban.

The teenager will therefore miss Barcelona’s trip to Prague in January and Hansi Flick will have to cope without him for the match.

Yamal has two goals and two assists for Barcelona so far this season in the Champions League, with his latest effort seeing him break a record previously held by Kylian Mbappe.

The Barca star’s assist for Jules Kounde against Frankfurt means he now has the most goal involvements (14 G/A) by a player aged 18 or younger in the Champions League.

Kounde also wrote his name into the history books with his headers. He’s the first player to score two in a Champions League match for Barcelona.
