Barcelona boss Hansi Flick admitted that Lamine Yamal wasn’t happy with the decision to take him off before the end of Tuesday’s win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.
Yamal was spotted looking less than impressed after being taken off in the closing minutes of the game and Flick was asked about the teenager afterwards.
“Lamine was disappointed with the substitution, we needed fresh legs and we’ve made the change,” he told reporters.
“I’m happy because we’ve controlled the game, they’ve defended well and stayed compact, and we’ve created chances.
“We have to focus on ourselves and get six more points than we have. We have to look at these things like the goal average, but the important thing is to get those six points.“
Yamal also picked up a booking in the match, meaning he will be suspended for Barcelona’s next Champions League match against Slavia Prague in January.
