Barcelona president Joan Laporta spoke about Hansi Flick’s future after seeing the team win 4-0 on their return to Camp Nou on Saturday in La Liga.
The stadium reopened with 45,401 fans present and is not expected to be at full capacity until work is finally completed in 2027.
Laporta says Flick wants to be at the Camp Nou to see it packed full once again, and Barca’s president is confident that will happen.
“I want Camp Nou to be a sacred temple where we can share many memories with 105,000 fans when it’s finished. Flick has told me he wants to see it, and I’ve told him he’ll see it because he’s very well established here,” he told reporters.
“We’re very happy with Flick. He has a great rapport with the players, he’s a true professional, he has a very good staff… He gives us the confidence that things are being done very well.”
Flick’s current contract expires at the end of June 2027. The German coach has said repeatedly that he loves being at Barcelona and feels at home at the club, but there’s been no real word yet on what he plans to do after his current deal expires.
