Harry Kane’s name has been linked with Barcelona in recent weeks as he heads towards the end of his contract at Bayern Munich.
However, the latest updates suggest that the England captain won’t be moving on any time soon and wants to extend his contract with the Bavarian giants instead.
A new report from Bild states that Kane will not make use of his €65m release clause and wants to continue with Vincent Kompany’s side.
It’s not great surprise to hear Kane wants to stay but that does mean that Barcelona’s hunt for a new No. 9 will go on.
The Catalans have also been linked with Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, who both look out of the club’s financial reach, while Etta Eyong has also been mentioned as a possible target.
Indeed a new report from The Athletic claims that Eyong’s name is very much still on the table at Barcelona and that the club are “well aware” of his €30m exit clause.
Much will depend on how Eyong fares between now and the end of the campaign, but he is certainly emerging as a realistic summer transfer target.
