Hansi Flick watches Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal feature for Catalunya against Palestine

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick took a trip to Montjuic on Tuesday night to watch midfielder Marc Bernal start for Catalunya in a charity friendly against Palestine.

The midfielder has hardly featured for Barcelona this season after returning from a long injury lay-off but played 45 minutes for Catalunya under the watchful eye of his manager.

The home side scored early in the match and then doubled their lead on the half hour mark before Palestine reduced the deficit before the break.

There were no more goals in the second half as Catalunya ended up 2-1 winners, with Bernal happy to see some game time during the international break.

“These minutes have been very good for me; I’ve felt very comfortable,” he told reporters.

There’s been speculation that Bernal will see more game time in the coming weeks and months after managing just five appearances, and only 32 minutes, so far in 2025-26 for Barcelona.
