Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong was reportedly back in training at the Ciutat Esportiva on Sunday morning and is expected to be available for Tuesday’s match against Atletico Madrid.
The Netherlands international missed the game against Alaves due to personal reasons, but AS say he is now back in action and should feature against Diego Simeone’s side.
However, it looks like Ronald Araujo will be missing again in midweek. The Uruguayan international was ruled out of Saturday’s win due to a stomach virus and didn’t train again on Sunday.
Barcelona head into the match after coming from behind to beat Alaves, although Flick said afterwards his team have plenty to work on.
“Yes. I’m happy we won the three points, but we have to improve many things. Among other things, we had chances but didn’t finish them. And that’s what we need to improve,” he told reporters.
Atletico also tasted victory on Saturday, beating Real Oviedo 2-0, and sit three points behind Barcelona in the table.
