Alessandro Bastoni responds to Barcelona transfer talk

Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has played down speculation about a potential move to Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are believed to be keen to add another center-back to the squad, and Bastoni’s name has been mentioned recently as a possible target.

The Italian defender has now been asked about the transfer talk but insists he does not know anything about interest from Barca.

“It makes me proud to see links, it means I’m doing well – but there’s zero, nothing,” he said. “I’m happy here at Inter and I have zero issues or problems here. I don’t even focus on the news.”

Bastoni’s not the only defender who is being linked with a move to Barca present. Aston Villa’s Pau Torres and Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck are also thought to be targets.

Bringing in a new center-back looks like it will be one of Barca’s top priorities next summer, although a replacement for Robert Lewandowski may also be needed if the veteran departs.
