Diego Simeone gives his verdict on Hansi Flick’s emotional chat with Raphinha

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has been asked about Hansi Flick ahead of Tuesday’s match against Barcelona in La Liga.

Flick was spotted looking dejected after Saturday’s win over Alaves and was comforted by Raphinha. The Barca boss has since played down the incident, and Simeone says he wasn’t surprised by the footage that went viral.

“It’s normal, we’re people, human, we have emotions and feelings,” he told reporters.

“It’s always easier to see and ask for things from the sidelines, but then playing isn’t so simple, and with so many matches in a row, having to always give your all is more complicated. From the sidelines, we want to see the best and we expect that.”

Simeone also admitted he’s expecting a tough game against the Catalans on Tuesday night.

“The type of match we expect is very clear. They have an incredible attack, a positional style of play, and important individual players, and we have to be strong in that aspect to compete and take the game to where we believe we can hurt them,” he added.

Atletico head into the match in good form and have won their last seven games in a row in all competitions.
