Barcelona hit by another injury setback as Fermin Lopez ruled out

Barcelona have been hit by another injury setback as Fermin Lopez has been ruled out for two weeks in the wake of the team’s disappointing defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League.

Lopez has sustained a muscle injury and will spend the next fortnight on the sidelines, missing the games against Alaves, Atletico Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt and Real Betis.

The news is a blow to Hansi Flick ahead of some big games, as Fermin has been in great form so far this season for Barcelona.

Here’s the official statement: “First-team player Fermín López has a small injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg, and his estimated recovery time is around two weeks.”

Barcelona’s injury problems had been easing, with Joan Garcia and Raphinha having successfully returned from injury since the international break.

Flick is also hoping to have Pedri back at the weekend against Alaves. The Spain star has been in training this week and will hopefully get the green light to play.
