Sergi Dominguez only left Barcelona in the summer but has made it clear he would love to come back to the club at some point in the future.
The center-back moved on to Dinamo Zagreb back in June after making five first-team appearances and has gone on to play regularly for his new side.
Dominguez has now given an interview to Diario Sport and admitted that he still thinks about his former club and hopes to play for Barca once again.
“My goal is to return home, I have everything in Barcelona. The ultimate goal would be to play for Barça again. It’s difficult, but I’ll try as hard as anyone else. I have everything there, house, friends, family. It would be the best thing that could happen to me,” he said.
“But I must prove it, play and if the opportunity comes, hopefully. If not, let’s continue. Obviously, to become an elite professional player, to establish myself and be a good centre-back, that’s the closest goal. But the end is to play for Barça. But to do that I have to accumulate minutes and prove myself.”
Barcelona’s defence has been in the spotlight this summer and it’s thought the club are considering investing in a new center-back next summer, with Nico Schlotterbeck reportedly a transfer target.
