AC Milan keep on being linked with a move for Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The latest update comes from Sky Sports and states that Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is part of the club’s coaching staff, is “strongly pushing” the Rossoneri to go for Lewandowski in the summer.
The veteran will be available on a free transfer and Ibrahimovic believes “Lewandowski perfectly embodies the club’s values and could serve as a role model for the younger generation.”
Milan are well known for helping to extend the careers of ageing players thanks to the contributions of players such as Alessandro Nesta, Andrea Pirlo, and Clarence Seedorf.
The Serie A giants have also made a habit of signing top stars towards the end of their careers such as Ibrahimovic, David Beckham and more recently Luka Modric.
Lewandowski has said this week that he still hasn’t decided his future yet. It’s been reported he’s not interested in heading to Saudi Arabia, but it remains to be seen if Milan could tempt him from Barca.
