Marc Bernal is having to be patient when it comes to game time at Barcelona after returning to full fitness this season following knee surgery.
Hansi Flick has said recently that Barcelona must be careful when they choose which games he can play as he works his way back to full match fitness after such a lengthy spell out.
According to Diario Sport, the club do have a thorough plan for Bernal and intend to start giving him “quality minutes” in November with a view to him starting to play a key role from January onwards.
There have apparently been a few “ups and downs” with Bernal in training which have led Barca and Flick to take extreme care with the youngster.
However, it seems that the midfielder is now in better shape and Flick is confident he can challenge for a place in the starting XI in the coming months.
Bernal has only managed four substitute appearances so far this season, and a total of 31 minutes on the pitch, but the hope is we will see a lot more of him from now on.
